On April 22nd, in commemoration of the 57th World Earth Day, the Qatar RUYA EPCI09 Project (hereinafter referred to as the RUYA Project) joined forces with QatarEnergy, North Oil Company, SAIPEM, McDermott, and other world-renowned energy companies to gather at the BOOM WASTE facility in Qatar to jointly carry out a tree planting activity themed “Our Power, Our Planet”, contributing “COOEC’s strength” to Qatar’s green development.

Prior to the activity, representatives from various companies had in-depth discussions on environmental awareness and practical initiatives. Afterwards, everyone divided tasks and worked together in perfect coordination. They shoveled soil, held saplings steady while filling in the pits, and fetched water for irrigation, carefully planting rows of drought and salinity-tolerant native saplings with meticulous attention to every operational step. After the planting was completed, the newly planted saplings blended harmoniously with the surrounding grassland, adding fresh greenery and vibrant vitality to the site.

All participants noted that the hands-on tree-planting experience deepened their understanding of the Earth Day theme “Our Power, Our Planet”. “Each sapling is a symbol of hope. As long as everyone contributes a little effort, these efforts can converge into a formidable force to safeguard the Earth”, said William, a participant from the RUYA Project.

As a key flagship of COOEC in the Middle East, the RUYA project has consistently integrated into all stages of construction. Since its inception, the project has incorporated environmental protection requirements into full life-cycle management. From the application of low-carbon technologies in the offshore pipeline construction phase to marine ecological protection during subsea pipeline laying, it has consistently minimized the project’s environmental impact through technological innovation and management optimization. These practices have received high recognition from both the client and the local government.

This tree-planting activity is not only a practical ecological action but also as a vivid testament to the collaborative synergy among international energy companies. Going forward, the RUYA Project will continue to collaborate with all partners, diligently advancing the integrated development of energy exploration and ecological protection, while steadily reinforcing the company’s green credentials and cooperative reputation in the Middle East market.?
